Are Sweden's crosswalks set up like Russia's, where the pedestrians are basically targets? I would have zero confidence in a car not turning me into a stain on the road. Caution would be prudent. 
No i would say that you are pretty safe on a Swedish crosswalk, but i was hit one time
Me and the wife was walking a crosswalk when a green Ford... not only did not stop but
accelerated. I pushed the wife away and jumped up in the air so i landed on the hood
dented the hood and cracked the windshield when i stepped down the idiot run away.
He parked at a store down the street so i run there and pulled him out of the car to give
him some knucklebased pain. But it was an old man, where the soul had left the body totaly senile
could not beat him up
