Lawnmower Carb on 302

I've been following this gentlemans channel for some time. It started as a joke but has morphed into something a little more serious. Pretty fascinating.

My brother and I put a 50mm Mikuni on a 71 LTD with a 390 GT motor, 3 on the tree and 3.25 rear gears. We made a plate with a 90deg elbow to mount the carb to. That setup moved out really well. It pulled so much vacuum that the elbow would frost up while driving. Even though it really moved out, we didn't leave it on the car long as it made soooo much vacuum that, when you opened the throttle wide open the air movement would hold the slide open and you would have to switch the ignition off until the rpm's dropped enough to allow the carb slide to close. Stuff you do growing up on a farm! Jim
