Anyone running 17" wheels/tires on a '69-'70 Mustang? Whatchagot?

Not many choices on wheels I'm finding due to offset. Many of the slicker looking wheels only come with modern offsets, requiring custom wheel spacing, very pricey these days.

On my 67 GT500 I'm running 235-45 -17 on a 7" rim front with 1" lowered coil springs and the Arning drop. On the rear with a 1" drop I am running 255 45 17 on an 8" rim with no clearance issues what so ever. Legendary wheel offers many of the OE style rims with correct offsets in alumimum.
 I have the copies of the 1967 Shelby 10 spokes.

Yup - Check out Scott Drake's Legendary series. I'm working on mounting a set of 17's on the back of my 1968 Cougar. Staying with 15x7s on the front assuming I find them. They got lost in shipping months ago. So far happy with the initial results. These are 17x8 with a 4.75BS. Tires are 275/50/17 so right around 28" tall.

there is a chart somewhere on the web where folks entered what they have done. wheel vintiques and others will do any offset you ask. be aware how they define offset. if i remember right they do not consider the bead as part of the width but for offset they measure from the bead. either way if doing a nitty griity fit have a conversation with them. on the mentioned chart by mustang owners you will find a 315 rear someone did on a 69-70. 69-70 has a lot more rear room than 67-68. having said that i recall a 285 rear on a 68 cougar by chipmechanic. know your front disk clearance when offsetting. i think calipers wont fully fit into a 17. they should fit into an 18. i think an 18 looks all right on a 69-70. not so good on a 67-68.
