Pretty far South this year, I noticed.  I've raced at Steele before, and at Bowling Green, but not at Memphis or the other track.  Would be fun to go, but it's kind of a hike for this guy...

It's about a 9 hour drive for me. Not too bad. However I will likely enter in Race Week 2.0. I have to defend my title, LOL! I do hope they list the tracks before HR has their registration so I can see so I can compare.

Not for me either. I have no desire to haul my old rig through the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee to get there. I sold the Galaxie, so that's not an option either.

While I hate that the FERR dates have been moved to the same DragWeek dates, it does give me the opportunity to remind those not going to DragWeek that the FE Race & Reunion will be held September 7-10, 2022.

The Artist Formerly Known as Trunk Monkey will be there in the HemiCoupe. The nice thing for me is that I will expand my list of tracks raced on by 3. I raced at Gateway before, the rest are new. Considering the climate in those parts, I might invest in a sauna and spend a couple hours a day getting conditioned.

Is it just me, or does DragWeek tend to stay in the same general area, year after year? I think that it would a cool event to attend, but it would be nice if they would move to a different region every year. Quite a haul for the West Coast guys, just to get there. What is the furthest West or North that DragWeek has been so far? Now that I live on the East Coast, it is closer, but still quite a distance. Hopefully the borders open up so I can race the 59 at the FE race in Beaver Springs this year, still a 18 hour haul, each way, but much better than 50 hours! Any Other Ford themed events in the NorthEast USA? Or anything thing say, within a week or 2 on either side of the FE Race?

Drag Week does move around some, a lot of times it's in the northern midwest area, and for a couple years it was out on the East coast.  Never been out West though, about the farthest West it has gone is Kansas.

In June there's the Dragway 42 all Ford event in Ohio, maybe check that out Rory...

Hot Rod did a Drag Weekend one year, if I remember it had a cruise from LA to Arizona, then drag days at Tucson, Phoenix and back to Tucson. I don’t think it was very well attended, rumor is that convinced them it wasn’t worth the effort. The year it was the furthest to the Northeast lots of people predicted that would be the year it actually started with a full 400 entrants, etc., etc., instead it still didn’t fill and participants were actually down a bit. In the end many commented they didn’t want to deal with the metropolitan traffic in those areas. No idea how spectator attendance was, but I’d guess Hot Rod watches those figures too. We have no idea how the behind the scenes organizing goes, maybe Hot Rod has found the Midwest easier to put together, who knows, but in any case they seem happy with that format. With the continued growth & success of Rocky Mountain Race Week, and the dedicated group of participants they’ve attracted, along with a few other events around the world, I think i shows there’s opportunity for some organizer to put their own unique event together. Add a few tweaks to make the event special, treat the customers well, a promoter could maybe make something fly.

Drag Week is a week later this year. I'm sure lining up the tracks for a open date isn't easy.

I'm excited to go with Joel again. I'll pick up 3 new tracks I've never been to as well.
