As an alternative:
https://youtu.be/9D8H5afRjo0The first time I watched an SCCA race was at the Grayling National Guard Base in Northern Michigan. The runways are laid out in such a way that the course is a series of short straights and 90 degree corners. It was difficult to see the whole course from our vantage point just past the starting line on the start/finish straight, but we could see a very long straight that was just before completing once around the course. The field consisted of Dan Gerber and Tom Payne in Cobras and a passle of Sting Rays. All the Corvettes came out on the long straight before the first Cobra became visible, having made that last corner. But by the time the time the cars got to the middle of the straight, the Cobras were one and two. Within a half dozen times around the course, the Cobras had lapped the field.
I was never too happy about the reference to the tow car in the song, but the rest of it pretty much duplicated what I saw at Grayling that weekend.
