I am very saddened to hear this, Jim. You have my heartfelt condolences. It was truly a pleasure to meet you and your son during Drag Week. I got a huge kick out of him and his ambition for the car and the fun that you guys were having.
Guys, I have to say, Daniel was a real treat to meet. We chatted every day through Drag Week and even parked beside each other on the final day. When I saw his blue Torino sitting alone, I had to park with him to show off some of the Ford FE crowd
I got a kick out of watching him work on the car and looked forward to his return to the pits after each run. To see a younger fellow have such fun with an obvious passion for the car, an old FE powered car, well, it just made my whole week. It also gave me a little hope that there were still some young guys who liked the old iron. Daniel and his Dad were all smiles, all week, as far as I saw. They were exactly the reasons I wanted to participate in Drag Week.
