Oil fill cap
« on: June 05, 2021, 09:29:17 PM »
So it's been a while since I have posted. I have a built 390 with the stock powered by ford crome vavle covers with the twist on oil fill cap. The oil cap has popped off a couple of times under hard acceleration. I have checked the fill cap and it is a tight when I twist it on. Hoping someone can help me with posable cause this.

Thanks John

Look at the flat piece crimped into the bottom of the cap that locks the cap down and see how wide it is compared to the slot for it in the valve cover also check to see if it has shifted to one side or the other they sometimes do that if the crimp loosens up a little. If so it may be slipping out under acceleration.
