Pulled motor
« on: March 30, 2021, 01:39:02 PM »
Well I finally got to take motor out of the car. All was going good till I took the second head off and I have some scoring in #8 cylinder. I dont know how to send pics but  I did go to the FE reunion and to another track and put maybe 50 street miles  on it and it seamed fine. Thats not to say I like it. I will probably start saving for a BBM.  I would have to imagine its  5 thousanths or so.

I don't know if I'd go for a new block.  I'd try to see what it would take to hone it out.  You may not even need new pistons.

I know its hard to really see but is it usable. I mean I have to take it apart and see if there is any ring or piston damage. I t didnt smoke or make any noises. If I didnt drive off the track I wouldnt have even taken it apart. Not sure how much more I can go. One of my cylinders is at .090. Dont know which one.
