Quicktime fork spacer, can anyone confirm?

I recently purchased a Tremec TKX for my ’66 Fairlane. I was running a toploader with 1-3/8” input. This is behind a 427 FE so it is the shorter input shaft. The Tremec has the 7.10 length input which is longer than the 1-3/8 input by about a half inch. So my old Lakewood scatter shield would not work. I did not want to use any spacers so I bought a new Quicktime scatter shield. All is good and looks like it will all work well. However there is a .600” thick spacer block in my Quicktime parts kit. The instructions say it is used on some Ford applications, “some?” So I’m thinking I am one of the “some”. Since the Quicktime is deeper than my old Lakewood to keep the fork in the same relative position I would use the spacer? Can anyone confirm? I’d rather figure this out now than later. Thanks!

Seems throw out bearing to clutch clearance will need to be checked. Brent may can tell you which to use since he sells a lot of different applications.

You'll have to mock it up with the spacer and without the spacer and see where the fork geometry ends up.  If you need more room between the pressure plate and the throw out bearing, then you would take the spacer out.
