66 Fairlane, 3 point seatbelts?
« on: May 07, 2020, 04:12:02 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I'd like to put a set of 3 point seatbelts for the front seats on my 66 Fairlane.  My question is, does the 66 have the mounting point above the door?  I really don't want to start taking the headliner out if there's no mounting point there.
Take care,
Dan

Good question.  The 67 Mustang we had already had bolt locations under the headliner - I found them by feeling around.  Not sure if my 67 Falcon has them, now I have to go look.  67 seems to be the "start" of the option, but I can't find much of anything to say whether they may have installed anchors in 66.

I can easily feel the upper anchor on my 67 under the headliner, just a ways past the driver's seating area.  Near the windlace edge.

Looked in my 66 202 comet, and it doesn't have the anchors. 68 Cyclone fastback has them. Not sure how much I would actually trust them. That whole area is pretty flimsy.  Rob

Thanks for the replies.  I'll go out and check again, I don't think I was checking the right place.  Although, it looks like they aren't there anyway.  I did upgrade the lapbelts, so I at least have them.
