The driven gear on the end of my cable has the end of the cable sticking through. I do recall the other year putting this gear on and the square shaft was compressing somewhat so I could get the clip on. So it pushed through the end and sticks out about 3/32". Any issue with it sticking out or potential issues? The gear is cheap, the cables aren't too bad but who feels like tearing things apart to run another cable? The cable is about three years old, a repop.
