68 fairlane wiring trouble ....
« on: September 24, 2012, 07:43:14 PM »
I tore out 99% of the engine bay wiring. I have the pigtale that has the ignition wire on it . what color wire is the hot for the igniton? Ive tested every thing out and They all have 12 volts .. They all have 12 volts while the ignition is cranking with silinoid small plugs unpluged (no starter turning) as soon as I try to start it I lose 12 volts.. Im thinking it has to be a ground problem .. were Do I all need grounds?  I have the negitive from the batt right to the block. I have a cable from the back head bolt to the firewall ... am I missing something ? confused  :o

Your grounds sound OK.  I'm not familiar with the Fairlane/Torino wiring harness; have you got a picture of the pigtail you are talking about?
