How many HP would this combo make? (GM product)
« on: May 23, 2017, 10:45:37 AM »
Visiting a distant relative, he told me he had 700hp in his 454. I'll give what I know, 454 .030 over, 10.5 compression. Brodix aluminum heads, RPM air gap. 285/295 roller cam with 572 lift. 990 Holley.

I don't think the cam is big enough but the heads probably flow great so it will make him happy whatever the HP.

Any thoughts on HP?

In the early 2000s I did a 462 Chevy with a 242 @ .050 solid roller, 290's adv, 10-ish:1, Team G and a set of Brodix heads, middle of the road volume, I don't remember all the details it's been a long while.  It made 603 HP @ 6100 on Kell's dyno in Vegas.

Very strong running car, all good parts, but it would have taken a lot to get it to 700 hp

No where near 700, probably around the 600 hp mark.
