The Baldwin B253 I have used myself on several engines and have had no problem at all.  It is a heavy duty filter and has a high burst rating.  My FE ran about 125 psi cold so I used this as well as an FL1HP, 51515R Wix, or 1515R Napa.  I trust Wix, NAPA, Baldwin, and Motorcraft.  That's it for me.  JMO.

Richard 125psi COLD is oblivious to HOT but the 67 427 FoMoCo shop manual lists the oil pressure as 40-55psi @ 2000rpm HOT

man I am wondering if that is some serious torque on the distributor drive gear & pin?

I built it in 1997 and have never had a problem.  It is a HP HV pump.  I just (usually) let it warm up some before I got on it.  Hot, it would run around 100 psi at higher rpm.
