Cross bolt a 390 or 428 block

I did a search on this site, found  numerous post for cross bolts but what does it cost to cross bolt a non cross bolted block.   Just looking at options at this point

I had Pro-Gram caps installed several years ago and I think it cost about $900 for the install.  I think another reasonable option is to just have #2 and #4 main caps cross bolted.  I would think it would make the job easier leaving #3 alone.

A friend of mine here in Oregon does them. He only uses the 390 blocks that have the bosses (I think only a 1965 casting date). He checks this site so he might reply.
I have one of these he cross bolted but mine will need only one sleeve to go +080, it's already +060 and needs cleaning up. Keeping that to put in a 4.25 stroker kit.
You've got to remember that cross bolt caps will be in the $300 to $400 range.

Make sure to choose a good competant machine shop. Be sure to have caps, studs, and side bolts to get a good align bore job. I like the pro-gram caps, especially if the block doesn't have the bosses cast into the block.
Another good less exspesive option is a main stud girdle. There are a few different ones out there for the fe but I like the one from 'Concept Design Engineering' the best because it incorporates all the oil pan bolts as well.
