An old Ford racer is in our thoughts and prayers

Forgive me in advance if this is not the right place to add this but here goes if you all don't mind?

I want or hope that a few of our old pals in and around the Ford fraternity to maybe hold a good thought, if you wish, for an old pal who was part of the Ford Drag Team and who runs a fast, A FX Mustang that we built in 69-70 at Stroppes, just as the HMS era ended.

This car had Earl Wade as the Crew chief and engine builder and runs his last Pro Stock style cammer

Since we lost that wonderful man, me and my boys help Larry whenever we can and he is such a nice, kind, all Ford guy

Larry Knapp has 3 SOHC cars, and he took his Black AFX up to Eagle Fields a few weeks ago to run her against other old 60s era AFX style Hot Rods.  Unloading the car he cut his arm, no big deal he thinks, just kept racing, but, the wound did not heal.  So he competes, loads her up and the damn bleeding goes on.  He tows 4 hours home, next morning, he has blood all over, coming out of his mouth too, out of other places, so his wonderful wife, son and daughter rush him to the hospital. A week later they tell him, you have no white blood cells?  His number was on the mat, low, and so they did all this stuff, put him on strict bed rest, a bunch of medicines and steroids.

We spoke when he got out and since.  He has raced his whole life, always in a Ford, and I recall helping drill blocks for oil drains, etc, on his fast SOHCs in 70, 71, 72, and more

Maybe if you know him, or do Facebook, shoot him a smile or good thought if you can

Sure many turn 70 here and have issues, I recall many getting discussed over on 5-4 i think. I wanted to put this out there to maybe cheer him and his pals up. He is recovering and hopefully , given time, going to run more AFX events

Me, my old pals, and the gang, all of us, send him our very best, publicly here.  Never met a nicer guy or better family man.  And Earl Wade had his own room at Larry's big home, and an engine room, and Larry treated him like a favorite Uncle for years.  The family loved Earl a lot, and was there for him all the time when he was ill, and old

Get well Larry, we all dig ya a lot.  You are in our thoughts and prayers fast Ford man.

That old Mustang has 8s in it and I hope he gets to have fun with that Hot Rod, and many more again soon.  And the new Les Ritchey car, injected on alky, watch out Dodge boys and Mr chebby   ha ha

Thanks a lot gentlemen

See you all later. Busy.

Sorry to hear about Larry, and I wish him the best for his recovery.  I've never met him or spoken with him, but have heard plenty about him and his car.  Back a few years before Earl Wade passed away, whenever I talked to him he would always mention Larry's car and the SOHC that was in it; Earl held Larry in pretty high regard.  Get well soon, Larry!

Dear Jay

You are a consummate gentleman and a class act all of the way. I will make sure Larry gets this, and I will read it to him.

Larry read the FE net but can not stand the fighting or trolling. He has friends, including me, ask questions and send news.  We all love the tech, but not the wreck,,,haha.

Larry gets your news from us, and he respects you a lot.

This will mean a lot to him

And we all thank you sir....

I am going to get you 2 on a conference call with us some day, or connect somehow

Until then, my very best to you

And guys, he is on Facebook if you want to send a hey howdy

He is basically under strict bed rest, new diet, hurtin mode

Sure, we all have challenges, but he is such a nice man, and so kind to any and all FORD folks,,I had to send some well wishes.
