Take a close look at the tranny. No blanket nor even a sheetmetal shield (tranny cover). If he loses that trans or even pokes a rod out, look out for one hot time with his driver's suit bathed in burning oil! Ouch!

I can't tell for sure from the video, but most likely that is an aftermarket SFI rated transmission case and bell housing and doesn't require a blanket, shield or covering. Tom Bailey's similar street / pro mod is built the same way.

Looks like he was on FIRE by the end of his street run. :o
I don't think even race cars are suppose to have smoke billowing into the car. ::)

I moved ahead in the video and was puzzled as the engine sounded like a Y block in need of a valve lash check. :)The in car camera could have had in car sound.

I hate pro-mods, but I'll give him credit for using a poncho in it. That was the only reason I respected the old crow.

The Pontiac motor is the last good thing. Having owned a 64 lemans for 14 years, and raced a 64GTO for 15 years. At least the crow looked like a street car. There aren't many street cars with tube chassis with funny car cages. Of course I am still gonna watch the show, it's just getting farther and farther away from street cars.

I watch the show , just for entertainment, but anybody that thinks those are street cars is out of touch with reality.

The way it fogged up the side glass, I'm pretty sure that was a CO2 bottle he opened up....with a fairly substantial leak.

CO2 bottle is what I was thinking too, the vapor started after it looked like he twisted a knob out of camera view. I wonder if he was venting it for some reason?

That's even worse if he is venting CO2 into a confined space!
For that he should get a Darwin Award. ::)

Yes, it is CO2. He mentioned it in the first vid.

They do a lot of street racing outside of Chicago in the Joliet area, reason being the junk will not pass track certification. No cage, no harness, street tires not speed rated, no scatter shields, no shaft loops, mostly death traps that should never be on any road or track.
