WTB: 390 bare or short block
« on: November 03, 2015, 05:58:56 AM »
I'm not having much success finding anything local(Columbia, SC). Looking at places like Survival seem like a good deal, but I remember I've got no loading dock to take delivery. I'm looking to see if anyone nearby in SC, NC, or GA have a 390 for sale.

I'd seen the one in China Grove and was going to call on that one.
Hadn't seen the Ashville one, thanks!

I am not 100% if it is the same guy, but there is a guy that sells some REALLY cool old FE stuff in China grove.  I've spoken with him on Facebook a few times.  It would certainly be worth the trip to go check his stash out.

I ended up buying a 390 GT block from him that is ready to build. He's a really good guy, and man he's got the FE parts.
Also picked up an early 60s aluminum 4V intake as well.

Yeah, I guess he is retired and he restores FE parts as a hobby or something like that.... he always has neat crossrams and cool parts for sale up there.  Almost worthy of a pilgrimage from Georgia.

He's a drag racer. He had a 64 galaxie to race and his street car is a 63 galaxie with a 427.
Loads of FE stuff. He has a set of shorty cast iron headers I wanted but I am not sure in my Mercury they would fit.

Sounds like the same man I bought parts from a couple years back. Got what I paid for with no problems.
