Thank you very much for sharing this. We had the MERC program at Stroppe, and that era went from Stock cars and then into the Drag Team. We did many Drag Team Cougars at HMS and they were a fast and pretty combo to us....
The Logghe cars were light, and fast. Look at the shot with Dyno Don in his red car. This car match raced and made money all year, and Don had very fun and fond memories of his work with MERC too
We can share a lot more about this series of fast Mercs, running FORD FE's some day

Update is; Chassis got finished last week, out to paint, then back for assembly

So sad to lose DK........he did his part, and exceeded 1,000 HP with his FE, and stuffed a heavy car into the 8.70s, and just a 2 speed, 5 forward may have shaved another tenth, and the car was set centered, tune wise, to have a bit more in the pocket for the Finals.
