Rob, maybe you should clarify the primary purpose of the car.  Based on your first post, it is mostly a strip car with occasional street cruise.  Is that right?  If so, I would still lean towards the Victor or the tunnel ram, a big carb(s), and at least a 4.30 gear, maybe 4.56 if you can tolerate it on the street.

I don't think you are asking a lot of a 445 and could get there without being too fancy

If you want to shoot for 116-118 trap speeds, I think you could live with 475 hp or so, and focus on suspension and driving to get the power to the ground

The parts you have, maybe even the cam too, could get you there with some significant head work (or better heads) and a good light valvetrain.

My opinion on carb, anything from 750-850 will work in this situation, IMHO bigger will be faster with the dual plane if you can tune it, but it is the least of my concerns at that level.

Sounds like a great plan. Make a bunch of power.
With the heavy car and the stick you will need to up grade the gear box.
The Big in Big out, gear box is a great street box, but once you get up to 5K side steps and power shifts
at 6500 you will find the stock TL does not really want to play anymore.
The syncros just won't keep up. A change to face plated gears or a different race type gear box is pretty much needed.

Thanks for the good honest replies .I now know that my expectations aren't practical with what I have so I'll lower the bar and go for something that will be close to 500 hp with plenty of torque , change the rear gears and strengthen the trans, work on the suspension and hone the driving skills to get some good 60 ft times in the bank. I'll still have a ton of fun bracket racing and be able to enjoy driving the car. I would rather a good combination than something that is neither, then I can upgrade the top end later when $ permit.
Would still like some ideas on grinds to achieve this. Thanks Rob.

PS. What really makes me sick is my wifes car is a 5L Coyote with factory supercharger, runs 12.7 out of the box.
