Cool vid! Had no idea Petty would go to the trouble to hit merry old England, let alone with one of his old cars. I'm amazed though the driver and reporter had no seat belts, racing type or not. Scary to think what could have happened with a stuck throttle in a real racer. Hold on Nellie!

I'm disappointed in the starter. real mopar starters always sounded like this, (say it quickly out loud), CHEEE-A, CHEEE-A, CHEEE-A, CHEEE-A.
However, ford flatheads are the coolest sounding starters hands down

Super Ford Magazine had an article on finding an original Petty NASCAR Torino "chassis" buried in another shell after years of being passed around and rebodies, The documentation revolved around finding the original Petty Blue paint and specific unique details of the original car. No idea what became of the original found car/chassis. Wish I understood the Petty leaving Mopar for a year deal.

I wonder if they didn't use a Mopar tranny and bell? Many racers of that era did run Ford 9" rears and Toploaders since both offered many more gear ratios than the Mopar stuff. If they did, the starter was bolted to the bell and a Ford starter could have been used.
