Three Card Monty?................. Quote: "the lighter weight of aluminum alloy allows for a thicker qauge that really stands up to punishment." Well duh!.... Imagine Alum connecting rods made to the same dimensions as steel rods?............When they lay the BS out that deep I question what else is up their sleeves........
I was not all that impressed with the damage done to either bed material by those projectiles. I had a 77 F150 that took a complete 460 & C6 being dropped by a crane operator that made a dent like the worst shown. I currently have a 93 F150. Its bed is holding up remarkably well despite being kept out in the Florida sunny humid climate. It's resisting rust despite the paint being faded and very much worn away. No signs of rusting even in/around/under the complex formed metal at ends/sides. Hauling everything from lumber, steel, logs and engine blocks/heads/cranks scrap etc. I'm not a believer in bed-liners or spray coatings. I wonder how "old" steel of F-series past would compare in those tests?......
BTW Ford snuck the alum in certain HD/Super Duty trucks beds a year or so earlier.
