Interesting. Looks to go rich at higher engine speeds. Would probably make more power if it were leaned out some. Would be interesting to see how much difference ported heads and intake would make on that. Still very cool and powerful for street. Joe-JDC

Joe the carbs were a lot leaner when they were NA so we kind of accepted a little rich boosted.. The fuel curve needs adjusting but these carbs don't have a lot of adjustment in them without major surgery.. There is probably 10 or 15 horse on the table there.
Stock heads flow about 210/130@.500. I am sure porting would gain a lot esp. on exhaust side. Cam could be a little better matched too. More exhaust duration and wider lsa would work better. The blower is about at it's limit feeding this many cubes. A lot of compromises here.. but we pretty much hit the goals Low rpm, Lots of torque, and a street friendly engine. I have some 368 heads if you want to take a whack at porting them LOL

Yeah, before the discussion goes too far over into the numbers produced (which are plenty sweet
, the whole deal is just flat out cool. Watching and listening to it idle on the garage floor just tops it off
. I'm on board with a follow up to see it in the Ranchero.

Not the best pull here .. We made the pulley smaller to get 436hp and over 500 hundred torque but you get an idea of how it ran.

Thanks for the positive comments I hope Tom is happy with it.. He is in New Zealand right now so he did not get to attend the session.
I made decision on my own to Dyno it.. Just too many variables to try and tune it in the car.. I was really surprised by how low rpm it peaked and by the amount of torque.. In the video pull it makes 450 something torque. We opened the pulley .200 and it picked up 50 ft/lb

Royce, PM me about the heads. If you aren't in a hurry, it might be possible. I am placing an order for some new carbides, stones, cartridge rolls, etc., so I can work on iron. Joe-JDC
