Camshaft degree kit for FE
« on: January 02, 2015, 07:41:58 PM »
So I bought this kit from JEGS since it said universal.  http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/81621/10002/-1

After I got it, the heads on piston stop that goes in the spark plug hole is the small kind, and the heads off piston stop "strap" that goes across the cylinder doesn't go all the way across.

Do any of you know of a kit that will actually work out of the box, or am I better off building returning this one and then make one by buying it in pieces (buy the large wheel, make a strap, and buy the large size spark plug piston stop?)

I don't know anyone that makes a full kit, but there could easily be one. I bought my stuff piece by piece mainly because I had already started buying things as I needed them. I will agree with you on the piston stop that goes across the cylinder bore, I found the same thing probably a dozen years ago when I bought a similar one from Summit advertised as fitting "everything". I sent it back and specifically told them on the return form why it didn't work on a Ford. These companies have employees that own Fords they don't have to take my word, you'd think they'd want to have the info accurate. Imagine how many of these have been returned over the years, I just don't get it.
