Syncromesh Trans Fluid
« on: December 27, 2013, 12:07:08 PM »
I installed a Tremec Magnum 6-speed behind a warmed over 390 in my pickup, Woodstock.  It now has the 500 miles on it for break in and time for the fluid change.  The recommended fluid is either GM Syncromesh or Pennzoil Syncromesh.  From what I have read, they are the exact same except for price.  There is also a Castrol brand available and perhaps others.  Any recommendations from you guys?

I've used both the GM and Penzoil versions, didn't notice any difference between the two.

Same here, matter of fact I used a bench blend last time in my TKO-600, some Mopar ATF+4, some Dexron and whatever else I had around.  Been shifting so nice since 2007 I don't want to change it out LOL

I've been using the GM Syncromesh without any problem.   I believe that's what is recommended by Tremec so might as well use what they say.   Don't worry that GM blood cant get back into the motor.  ;)
