WANTED: Dyno/spring/t-bucket or other headers for dyno use

Anyone have a set of headers that exit the port and run out toward the fenders and then down?

My usual dyno will be down for a while and found a great option but they don't have dyno headers for an FE. The Crites we thought would work, wouldn't.  The inner tubes hit hard on the vertical motor mount stands.

Think T-bucket, spring car, straight out and down.  2 inch with a 3.5 collector and CJ flanges are preferred but open to options.  Will call Schoenfeld back on Monday but apparently the header sales guy is on vacation

You can see the car and the vertical stand in the pic, both sides are similar and wider isn't an issue, just narrow.  Thanks!

Actually I do have a set of sprint car headers- came off a car that ran on the half mile at Calistoga, with a High Riser and Algons back in the 70's, in the open exhaust days- yeah  Sure would drown out those Chebbies lol. Have no idea where they are, maybe out in the shed. Another option, any chance you can use some boat headers that go out and up? I have a set of Bassetts off a jet that I use on my test stand, might be easier to find locally

Similar to DTS in the picture. 
You might be able to flip that post forward and use/cobble up spacers to grab the engine at the power steering/alternator/generator mounts.
Rear mount should be carrying much of the torque, so it does not need to be brutally strong.

Thanks guys, I am making it a bit more difficult as I want to use something that won't mess up the front dress for future concours builds too.  I'll expand the search to FE boat headers because we can go up

Although if I have to on this one I may, we had already looked at that

If the sprint car headers are findable and for sale, would love to see a pic, otherwise might have to just have a set made.  I can only imagine the sound of an Sprint car HR at full boogie

You had to be there- there was also a guy running an Offy in the crowd back then. The car with the HR didn't handle as well as the little Chebbies, and would get passed in the corners, but would seriously march on them on the straights. The sound coming off Turn 4 past the grandstands with no mufflers was very difficult on the Chebbie fans

Ross, dyno headers are about the easiest headers to make, you may want to just make a set to keep around for dyno testing.  I did that with some SOHC headers, and use them whenever I have one of those engines on the dyno.  My dyno has actually been modified to make it narrower back by the bellhousing, so most headers will fit, but there are some that require me to bolt the engine to the dyno up at the front, usually in the holes at the front of the head or the block, rather than using the stock mounts.

Wonder if the exhaust port spacing is close enough to use some BB Chevy sprint car or Corvette sidepipe headers , by changing the header flanges.

I was really looking to throw money at the problem and buy a set.  I don't have much time in any given week these days to build a set.   I was hoping someone had something laying around.

Ross, If your dampener is around the size of the HD FT, you could used that front motor mount to solve your problem. All you need is 3/4" diameter spacers to move it forward.

In this particular case, I can mount wherever I want, but the majority of the engines I do are concours prep and I can't do odd custom stuff very easily and not mar the paint.

The easiest path is to buy headers that match the Stuska.  I was just hoping someone had something laying around.  I called Schoenfeld the day we realized the issue, but the only guy that can quote custom headers is on vacation until Monday

Anyone have a 429/460 head around or know the port centerline measurements?

Speedway makes a very affordable header kit for the 429/460 and flanges for FEs.  I am not sure the spacing matters if I am building it, but would be good to know how close.

Sorry for the delay, thanks for asking. 

I ended up buying a set of custom Schoenfeld, price was right and I have 2 waiting to spin and 3 more coming.  It was cheap convenience.

I have a TFS 485 TW that should do pretty well and the snotty little Cobra 452 iron head TW motor in the pics to give them a good dry run
