I have been considering moving to a hydraulic roller cam but all the of the shelf cams I see have a fairly modest lift compared to the solid roller I am running. Is there a lift limitation to what the hydraulic roller can handle?
Yes and no.
Technically speaking, there is not a lift limitation on hydraulic rollers. However, you do have to watch the spring pressures. Higher lift requires higher spring pressures, which on an FE can require lighter valves, lighter rockers, limited travel lifters, etc., depending on what goals are.
The majority of my hydraulic rollers for FE's fall in between .525-.670" lift.
