The 'loaner" "C" type of valve spring compressor from Advance auto parts doesn't have the range or muscle for HP multiple spring set-up's.
What are you guys using ?

Ted, if you're looking for a more budget piece that will surely do the job, you can get a Proform 66832.

I used that one for a long time until I bought my LSM compressor.

Had an old Proform unit. Didn't like it. I finally broke down and bought the LSM. Could not be happier. Works well with some decent solid roller springs too. Here's the one I have: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lsm-sc-2000

I built one with a large c-clamp. It safely holds 1.625 springs with 300lbs of seat pressure fully open long enough for a goofball like me to install locks.

thanks for the input guys.
I lucked out, as my fellow motorhead neighbor had a old BIG "c" TYPE with long screw-jack and pre set lever, so it's working great !

If I didn't have my Snap On air unit, I'd buy the LSM.

This is a cool setup - http://www.buxtonengineering.com/on_head_valve_spring_compressor.php
