Oil Restrictors To Rockers
« on: July 27, 2021, 08:21:37 PM »
I've just pulled the intake manifold off the 428 in my Galaxie due to an oil leak. I'm convinced that there is too much oil flooding the rocker covers. What is the best way to restrict oil to the rockers with the engine still assembled? Just a case of inserting a round piece of rod in the oil feed hole with a hole drilled in it or something more technical?
Thanks.

Take the rocker assembly off and find a piece of rod about the diameter of the feed hole.  Drill about a .070" hole in it and drop it in.  You can tap the hole and thread in a plug, but with the head still on say a rod that fits in there is the safer bet.  As long as it cannot move around should be good.
