1960 Daytona 250 Sportsman - Great Video
« on: April 26, 2020, 02:45:58 PM »
I put this in Non-FE, only because of the winner :)

There are some great shots of H&M's shop and a '60 Ford, one of my favorites of all time.

Drum roll................... the winner was a 368 Linc, with 6 x 2's, and who knows what other mods!

In the beginning, was rutting for the '54 (another one of my favorites), it apparently had a 352 FE in it.

I think this is the vid our poster missed:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eve1WFJ1yNc

It does mention late in the vid the six carbs on the leading Ford.

Of interest to me is that supercharged Y block Fords were among the most competitive cars in the race. I believe the case could be made that Robert McNamara had made for Ford, money at the cost of product quality much as Rodger Smith did at GM. Point being the Y block engine maybe did not receive the development budget required. IMO.
