Was comparing the 302 block plate to the fe bell housing and it looks like a hard one to pull off?

Jon, I've gotta ask; why would you want to do that?  And "flywheel spacers"?!  Never heard of such but sounds scary. :o

They only offer the new Tremec T-56 in a Chevy new/old bell housing or Ford 302/modular pattern. I am trying to figure a way to hook it up to my FE. I am going to make some calls today today and see if someone can make a bell housing to bolt the trans up and keep my original arrangement. I found a guy who is making bell housings for the trans and I'll give him a call today. The extra capacity and gear is definitely a plus and Liberty recommended to go that rout for my application but offered no solution on how to adapt to the engine so I am considering all options. More than likely the bell housing approach will be my choice for retaining the linkage and flywheel. Starter placement would also be a consideration as the patterns for power glide are much smaller.

Found a guy to make me an sci rated bell housing to hook up a T-56 Magnum to my FE using all the FE style components, very reasonable also. He has FEs too and does a lot of conversions to the tremek. Just the guy I need!

Ok, I'll bite: are you building a pro-touring / lateral-g type car that is driving the need for the 6-speed?

No actually a road racer/ drag/ street car that I am building with a 800 HP drive train. Definitely won't be getting that now but I have future plans for a Dyer's Blowers 671.

with a blower you only need 2 gears ;D
and with that  stroker in a Comet you
wont need 6 gears 5 is enough even
without blower
friend of me got this plastic sporty car
from Gambia Motors with a 500 inch
castiron stowe and a dyers 8-71 and
a richmond 5 spd most of the time
he starts i second wound it out a bit
and shift to fift

Worried more about strength and a big overdrive would be nice for highway use. Then I can also drop down a gear or two in my nine inch. Was going with 3.70:1 now I can go down to the 4.00s. The Magnum has way more ratios available also which is another plus along with the 700 Ft. Lb rating. Another factor is it is essentially the same cost as the TKO after the necessary upgrades involved to make it hold up marginally. Just seems like a better option and more versatile in the end.
