Just as a side note, and to make postings more understandable, unless we are talking about a manifold fabricated from sheet metal (usually aluminum) both iron and aluminum manifolds are 'cast'. The material may be cast aluminum or cast iron, but both are created by pouring molten metal into a suitable mold.

Reading the above thread almost made me go cross-eyed since I had to keep looking at a previous post to see what material a particular post-er was referring to.
