New FE stroker build, 3-4000 miles on the odometer + half dozen dyno pulls before install. 3 oil changes on the motor.
Has Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam, T&D 'street' rockers and high volume oil pump. Running conventional 10W-30. Has an FL1-A filter on it right now.
Yesterday it started rattling on start up like the lifters had relaxed and the noise went away after about a second when the oil pressure came up. Running oil pressure is strong, and it performs fine. It did have what sounded like a valvetrain tick when hot last year when I first started running it, but I am noticing that less now.
Is this common for roller lifters? Could it be a bad anti-drainback valve in the oil filter?
