Test for slipping clutch

I have a replica cobra with 411rwhp and 315/35/17 Nitto G3 tires. Pressure plate is a 3 finger Ram pressure plate. I can release the clutch pushing the petal about 1” down. When I hit it in 1st I never see any rubber on the street. I don’t smell a burnt disc so any suggestions on how to tell if it is slipping?

I doubt your slipping it in first gear but the best test is stick it in high (4th) gear at low rpm ( 1 to 1 ) and floor it , tach should move with speedo , if tach goes up and mph stays the same or lags behind it's clutch slip

if it slips in first gear it will slip for sure in 4th. Put it in fourth at low rpms and punch it see if the motor revs up and car doesn't accelerate. you might have a lazy hydraulic throw out bearing or slow clutch linkage.

Clutch releases pushing the pedal only 1"? Not knowing the setup I would say something is out of adjustment or stackup is wrong.

Can you see or measure how much if any gap from the fingers to throw out bearing?

Never measured it. Frame rails are 24” so you can’t see anything

Some hard compound tires just don't leave marks. Watching the tach and speedo works, or you can have a friend watch while you do a burnout. If the motor revs and the tires don't spin, you'll be replacing the flywheel and clutch, very soon!

'Paint' a 1" wide line on each tire with white shoe polish and then have someone watch for spin.
