2018 Hot Rod Drag Week entry list is published
« on: August 20, 2018, 06:13:50 PM »
Below is a link to the Hot Rod website and the 2018 Dragweek entry list and class breakdown that came out today. First I just want to say good luck to all our forum members going. As always it should be fun to see how it unfolds, always lots of drama. I know our Ford guys are getting prepared, will this be the year Hemi Joel makes it with the '31 Plymouth Coupe? 23 cars registered in Unlimited, will this be the year someone sets an official 5 second run? Or a 5 second winning average? I've seen an internet post that there are at least 11 Australians entered this year, although not all had to ship a car over.

Keep in mind there may be a couple entries listed in the wrong class here, seems to happen each year. Also, not all of these will actually make it, but I know the waiting list runs into the hundreds, so there are plenty waiting to take their place. There is a Drag Weekers Facebook page I follow, as those of you that have watched Drag Week in the past should be aware - there are dozens of folks still assembling their cars, or already repairing testing breakage

Just a warning, Hot Rod's ad infested, slow running website is still all that.

Thanks, Kevin. What FB page do you follow? The Bangshift page has pretty much dried up.

Wow, Jack Miller is running Modified NA, my old class.  Should be interesting to see how he does against Dyer's Nova...

If I can get in the top 10 in Super Street BB NA, I'll be happy. Seeing as how there's only 11 registered for the class, I may just have a chance..lol

No Jay which is sad... but also no Alex Taylor? I thought she would be there, her father is listed.

What engine and car is Jack running? I see Scott has the Cougar there.

Jack is running his Mustang, sans superchargers this year. He showed the forum a picture a while back, showing billet heads on his engine. Should be interesting to see what it does. Those superchargers always seemed to give him fits.

Bummer about Alex. I always looked forward to seeing her there. I got to race beside her 2 years ago. Really nice girl that knows how to drive.

Alex Taylor was out early last year, so she didn't make the top 3 in her class for advance registration, it's possible she's planning on going, but just on the waiting list if she didn't get registered quick enough.

Alex Taylor will be there! She is installing a new transmission now in preparation.
