I bought the car in 2004 from a dutch man that owned it since 1994. The car was coming from Califrornia was doing some drag racing with a 390. The 390 was rebuilt by Southern Automotive. The car was prepared for road race in Nederland but it never perfomred since a lot of details was negliged.

When I purchased it it was stored since 4 years. Since this time I mades the following changes :
- rebuilt the 4 speed top loader
- rebuit the 9" transmission with detroit locker
- rebuilt the clutch and the hydraulic actuator
- rebuilt the entire wiring hardnes
- rebuilt the brakes and lines
- change the windows for Lexan
- remove everythink inside that weight
- cut the inside door panels for weight
- change all the bushng on suspension for delrin machined bushing
- add a bar on the front suspension to otain a -2° negativ position
- modify the exhaust and add A/F sensor
- change te radiator for an aluminum one
- finally this year I built a new 427 that I will detail after

Elle est magnifique, et vous avez bien choisi les pieces du moteur :-)

Seriously, great car.  It will be a lot of fun with the four speed.  Any thought of front disc brakes?  You will be working those drum brakes VERY hard.

Hi Bill,
Perfect french !
The front has disc brake with big 3" single piston caliper coming from the 72 Thunderbird, I believe, it was done by the previous owner. I use pads coming from Hawk, the red one Super duty.
The back is the standard 11" drums but fited with longer shoes.
With this configuration the brake distance is fairly good, the problem is the life time of the pads one side is quickly eroded.
Next year when the engine will be completely tune, I will put 4 pistons calipers.

Awesome Galaxie with with the right engine 8)! Looks like you are one belt and pump, a few hoses and a big tank short of a dry sump oiling system! I bet everyone stops to listen when you get the RPMs up in that TP!! One suggestion is to completely separate spark plug wires 7 and 8, induction does bad things to cylinder number 8, like how I broke the ring lands on my number 8 piston in my 390 25 years ago :-[ Sorry for my french ???  Courtney.

Je suis tout d'accord avec votre choix de freins.  Very nice!  That should work just fine, especially with the four-piston units.

I am envious!  That tunnel port will sound wicked :-)

You are right for the sparkplug wire, the were reassembled too quickly, I will modify this.
Everybody loves this car, it is pretty rare in France, there are three 63 and two 64 that are configured for racing in France and I am the only one that use it on regular basis. The  sounds is very powerfull except with new rules on acceptable sound level on race tracks,  I had to put 2 lines in 3in diameter with muffler to keep it low.

Thank you for the douments, I know pretty well the Galaxie history in UK, it stop years of victoires for Jaguar. The car is still very popular even now, the major envent ther is the Goodwood revival where each year a few Galaxies are foghting Jaqguar XKE lignht weight, Minis and Ford Cortina.

Of course I made the modification on the front suspension, with the kit you mentioned. But It is not sufficient it slow down the caster movement but it is not 100% efficient. It can pivote ont the axis of the screw that hold on the system. I added a 2nd bar to be sure that everything remain in place, like a parallelogram.
