Favorite hydraulics?

I haven't used any juice flat tappets in a long time, but need a set for a budget 428 for my Highboy. Already have a new 268H, and a take-off set of springs from Ebock heads. Looking at the Crower Camsavers, but probably not necessary. Anybody use the Summit house-brand lifters? Regular Crowers or Lunatis maybe...

I use a lot of the Crower Camsaver lifters.  Extra protection...

Second the Camsavers, I also use Sealed Power on the mild ones like that, but not sure I'd even do that after using the Crowers.

The Summit stuff scares me, I had a single cam go flat on me in as long as I can remember, Summit cam and lifters, and although we found the spring pressure on the "pro-built" heads (nobody here BTW) was much higher than what the sheet said, it likely could have lived the way I fired it on the stand. I can't specifically blame the Summit parts because of the high spring pressure, but they didn't help either

Actual item may vary." lol..  Appears to show a groove machined near the bottom, is that how they work, spit a bit of oil from the groove? No actual pressure feed like an EDM hole? or is the picture wrong? They are not that much more expensive than the std ones

Correct, a very small flat is machined, technically, it's rarely in the right place as the lifter spins, compared to an EDM which should be on the pressure face, but, it does allow some additional pressurized oil to the leading edge of the cam when the lifter rotates.  Add to that it's a good quiet lifter and for the extra 30 or so bucks, I consider it cheap insurance

I used Sealed Power on my recent bench build 390, similar cam to yours, they worked great and were cheap, but I used the Camsavers on a slightly faster ramp 400 Poncho (224 intake/230 exhaust) and they worked great, no change in oil pressure and are nice and quiet.
