Thanks for posting, something for everyone to like there-  Here, it's 26 degrees, got another inch of snow last night and except for those who want their cars "salted", everyone is still in hiding. Oh well, soon-

Quite a wide variety of nice old US iron over there.  Years ago, here in Canada, we could not import US vehicles into Canada until they were at least 15 years old, that was relaxed years ago. Did Australia have similar importation regulations? I understand that LHD vehicles had to be converted to RHD before they could be legally driven there, but I think that has been relaxed, correct? Is chrome plating expensive over there? After having to shell out 800 bucks to have my 59s rear bumper rechromed, I shudder to think what the bill on a heavily trimmed car like that late 50s Buick would cost! What are you Aussies paying for a gallon of Petrol these days? Here in the Vancouver BC Canada area, we are at $1.53-1.55 a Liter for regular, about $5.85 a US Gallon. We can still get Ethanol free 94 Octane premium at some Chevrons, but its about $1.70 per Liter.

The best pump fuel we can get here in Australia is called 98ULP, which is equivalent to 93 in the US. We are roughly paying about US$7.50 a gallon for it.
As far as getting chrome plating done, where I live in Perth, most of the plating shops have shut down due to increasing tighter environmental regulations. As far as I know, there is only one shop left here that can do bumpers. The last place where I had a set of bumpers done now only does metal polishing. I have heard of bumpers having to be sent interstate to get a decent plating job done = big$$. Around 10 years ago, there was at least 5 shops locally that did good plating work.

Hi Rory. The laws on LHD cars have loosened up quite a bit over the last couple of decades. As Todd said if you are chrome plating a large bumper be prepared to have your wallet extracted through your arsehole.

End of season! I am waiting for it to start. Some great cars there, that gold 63 Comet is something rare to see around here. The roofline on that 67 LTD looks unfamiliar... like a fastback with wider pillars. I guess I just never see 67's.
