Fuel cell in trunk

Hey guys, I wasn't thinking it through when I mounted my fuel cell in the trunk of my 66 Comet. I have a firewall on the package tray and behind the rear seat but upon further inspection, fuel could get in to the passenger compartment over the outside of the wheel wells and into the quarter panel area leading into the headliner area. Does anyone have any idea's or thoughts on this? I hate to have to build a tub to drop it into and a cover to seal it. Any idea if the tech guys will turn me away for this? The car should run 11's. Thanks for your thoughts. Jim

i just mounted a fuel cell in the trunk of my 66 comet.i left the stock tank in the car and mounted the fuel cell on top of the old tank.that old tank could be turned into a catch can.just one of my dumb ideas.i can use either tank on my comet, with a hose switch

Jim, I fabricated two small aluminum shields to block the area over the tubs on my Shelby clone, to separate the trunk from the passenger compartment. They don't fit that well, but the tech guys have never said a word about it...

Thanks guys, I think I will try and get out to the drag strip and look at some of the cars and see how or if they needed to address it. My car is probably slow enough they won't say anything. Jim
