I got in at 11:03. I hit refresh at 10:59:00 and it wasn't open. I hit it again about 30-40 seconds later and it worked. It kind of surprised me because in prior years it opened late.

Edit: fixed a typo

I thought the same thing. If it sells out much faster in the future I will be in trouble. I can only type so fast!

I was on the waiting list two years ago also, Hot Rod did send a email response with my waiting list position, I would expect they will this year too. Hot Rod may take their time however, prompt responses aren't really their thing, so be patient lol. I'll post on here when I get my email.

I got my "you're on the Dragweek waiting list" email from Hot Rod today...I'm #59 on the list. I don't remember what number I was a few years ago, but it wasn't until just a few weeks before the start of Dragweek that they contacted me that they were up to my number, so I would expect the same this year.

Just got my email stating I'm #162 on the wait list... Guess I better not hold my breath.

If you decide you can go just keep planning on attending, as we've said before nobody on the waiting list has ever been turned away before. Nobody. Just figure on not hearing much now until maybe shortly before Dragweek. Since there are no pre-registration refunds there isn't much incentive for people dropping out to notify Hot Rod until the last minute. My experience, and from following a couple forums, is that when Hot Rod does start notifying waiting list people the process starts going fast. A lot of people who sign up on the waiting list will turn down their spot when the time comes. Many purposely sign up for the waiting list, knowing they may not get their car done or the time off from work, and not wanting to waste the registration money. In hindsight, and for the future, I think the smart thing to do is have a waiting list email draft all typed out and ready to go, and just hit send if you get the registration is full notice.
