« on: January 16, 2017, 06:49:49 PM »
Need some information on porting tunnel ram to intake adaptor using gaskets mention in instruction
From mr gasket.
Gaskets have large port opening will work for  the tunnel ram.
At the adaptor port these gaskets are to large impeading into the boss for bolt holding
Adaptor to cylinder heads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you  Paul

Paul, I wouldn't recommend gasket matching either the intake adapter or the intake.  If you have the Weiand tunnel ram and just bolt it onto the intake adapter with the gasket, you will see that they line up pretty close.  Just a minor cleanup with a cartridge roll is all that should be required.  You can just reach in from the head port side of the intake adapter and clean up the intake adapter to intake interface from there, when the intake is bolted on to the intake adapter.

There is an Edelbrock gasket that is a closer match to the ports than the Mr. Gasket gasket mentioned in the instructions.  I will try to find the number and post it later tonight.

On the #1 and #8 ports, the intake bolt hole is very close to the intake port.  If you happen to break into that, its not a big problem.  You can put some sealer under the head of the allen bolt that goes in that bolt hole, to keep any vacuum leak from developing there, and usually the gaskets are big enough to cover that entire hole, so there is no other way for the a vacuum leak to develop.

The other gasket is an Edelbrock 7265.  It is a little undersized, so you will have to trim it to fit the port opening, but it will work, and is not oversize like the normal 351C 4V gaskets - Jay
