dual quad air cleaner
« on: January 29, 2017, 11:23:27 PM »
One of many customer requests on the 66 Mustang 428CJ project is the Ford oval aircleaner .Engine has the new edelbrock dual quad manifold with their carbs. As you know the spacing is way differen.I waterjet a new base from 1/4 aluminum and waterjet some rings as well.Air cleaner is offset to the front...Lots of math involved..
The rings are stich welded to the base. For simplicity I just offset bent the studs...

Nice job on that.  I assume you bent the carb studs to line up with the holes in the lid?

Awesome fab work and solution to a tough problem!! I think that is one of my favorite things about this forum...the  can do  attitude - modify, adapt, or just make it myself! Not only that everyone shares what they do.
