Storm/matthew
« on: October 08, 2016, 07:29:19 PM »
This storm is sucking, trees down in the alley,  power out, limbs breaking, blowing wind and rain.
Pretty nasty up and down the east coast.
Uggh,  sucks..

I was wondering if anybody on the board was suffering the effects of the storm.  Hang in their, Keith...

My Son is right on the coast in NC as well, as is a friend of mine. He lost power last night and was getting a little concerned about the trees down. Hope you come through it without any problems, Keith.

we still have no power, my generator is like 100 miles away at my aunts place. they say our power should be on by midnight and if thats the case we will be fine, my mom flooded pretty bad though, her garage had about 7 inches of water in it. it just did get up to the back door though thank goodness and thank the lord she still has power. lots of trees down but i surely have seen alot worse so im trying not to complain to much. i know alot of people got hit way harder than me. thanks for the well wishes guys.

I really feel for the issues when a storm like that hits the East Coast. So much low lying ground and days for the rivers to crest.
Here in SW Oregon we are expecting almost 13" of rain the next two days. Where my house is at the top of the headlands 1 mile from the Pacific it's a straight shot and 80MPH gusts are frequent. The fortunate part is the terrain is very steep and rain just disappears. Some flooding in the Chetco, Rogue, Wynchuck and Smith rivers but very few houses are in the flood plain.
Hope things improve in NC and Virginia.
