Hard to beat a BBM or Survival head. Both of them will hit pert near 300 cfm out of the box.
Edelbrocks are around the 260-270 mark.
Ponds are meant for large bore blocks. Some of the BT heads require some fancy rocker setups.
Just for comparison sake, I built a 428, 11:1, Edelbrock heads with a good valve job and bowl work, 248/254 @ .050" solid roller, .670" lift, 110 LSA, and a Tunnel Wedge. It made 533 hp @ 6500.
For you to hit 550-600 hp with a 428, you're gonna need more camshaft and some fancy heads.
