Heo, that is some pretty fantastic skills. Producing a (safely) functioning gun from scratch is no easy feat.
I'm not sure if you saw this before or not. I believe it was posted by Drew, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Either way, this is skill that is practically unmatched, even by todays standards; a colonial gunsmith. This is one of my all time favorite videos.

Hey, we do have some mighty sharp gals that "can do' in the machine shop. I was amazed it wasn't an automatic which I think would have been a lot easier to make than a revolver.

Ohh, my bad. Well, thanks for that post, I've shown it to many of my friends who all enjoyed it.

And Bob, an auto would be much more difficult to make. Lots more moving parts that all have to work in perfect harmony. A single or double action is much less complicated.

Speaking of producing safe functioning guns......
As a kid i made some guns with questionabel function
and safety! But both eyes and all fingers intact so far
Just some scars and some steel imbeded in the face
so i can hang a fridge magnet in the face. Its a nice
party trick

Making a straight blowback full auto would be easy
like a sten gun or a Swedish K m/45 but adapted to
a pistol i think it would be hard to handle . Maby

Working in the firearms industry, I know of several women who are extremely talented! Machinists, wood finishers, engravers, ones who hand checkers. I'm quite envious of them.
