By the way, I have a 1966 Comet Cyclone VIN 6H26S549911, by the info on the door tag it was built Dec 6th 1965, also at the Lorain assembly plant. You'll notice how that fits with your VIN, 33,036 in November and my car #49,911 in December about a month later.

Well, it was worth it, but I still don't get the phone call to Marti, and the subsequent reply from there.

Anyway, I'm also thinking that the hood may have been dealer-installed. We just went through this with Joe's wheels, which did turn out to be a factory option. Since a Marti will not happen, the only thing left is to hope you can find a build sheet somewhere in the car.

Go into the FE Tech forum and read through the "Cam and Stock Power Brakes" thread.
