Another Mustang dream...
« on: December 06, 2016, 11:57:16 AM »
I have owned this Fastback since the early 80's.
It was my daily at one point for a few years.
I still have a daily fastback so to speak. ;)
I have at least two complete FE drive lines in 4 speed.
And one in auto mode. ::)
The koolest would be the 427 Genisis block, with 4.250 arm, BBM heads, Ford TW
then a Jerico 4 Speed.
I will try and get a picture of both the Fairlane and the Fastback on the track
together in the next year or so. I have the junk I just need to get off my ass
and do it. :P

Awesome project!  Good luck with the motivation thing.  I know what that's like... ::)
A careful study of failure will yield the ingredients for success.

Cool! Should that be a Ford TL (Toploader) not a TW?

Have you considered a more modern 5 or 6 speed tranny rather than a Jerico? I've an older model Richmond/Doug Nash street 5 speed like Jay also had in a 'Stang long ago. Nice as it allows 1:1 in 5th with a 3.00 9 inch rear and lowered highway rpms yet a great 1st gear overall ratio.

Still, I've considered a more modern Tremec 600 for even more top gear rpm reduction. Not exactly cheap yet they aren't giving away Jerico's either!

I already have two Jerico's, older ones but good street/strip type so they work pretty good for me.
And of course the Tunnel Wedge which is a real mint condition Ford casting. Really Kool!
