Part found after assembly, is it important?
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:26:49 PM »
Don't remember where I took this from, I think it was behind the timing chain. It's a service short block side oiler and I have blocked off the lifter galleries so maybe it can have a solid plug in it's place which I'm pretty sure I replaced it with. I just got a little worried when I found it after I finished the short block.
Thanks JK.

My W.A.G. perhaps from the lifter galley side up near the distributor drive on a Hyd (sideoiler) that was/is run as solids, to keep relieve oil from building up in the unpressurized oil galley's .   If something that large was used to meter oil it'd have near zero oil pressure.
