Spotted this while surfin' the net. I thought it was kind of interesting.

Can't say that I'm a fan of those original cars. I always thought they were ugly. A Cougar dash doesn't look right in a Mustang. As for this one, the Cammer engine is cool, but that white interior with orange piping...no.

+1 on that white interior  :o  And I wonder why he smoothed over the original Shelby scoop openings?  Still a cool car, but could have been so much cooler...

It's a show car and not a go car. I like yours MUCH better!  8)

I like the original Quarter Horse Mustangs.  I especially like this one with no scoops, no rear spoiler and no sport slats.  It so smooth and clean.  Paint it Medium Lime Metallic with a black interior and I'm heaven.  JMO.

I hate to admit it, but I've always thought the 69-70 Shelbys had a pretty homely front end.  They were harkening forward to the 71-73 body style, which I really didn't like much either.  Also preferred the 69 front end to the 70, and the 70 taillights to the 69s.  I saw a 69 Mustang with the Shelby back end treatment and side scoops once; THAT was cool...

I always hated the '70s taillights on the Mustang. They just looked gawdy (is that even a word?) to me compared to the '69s. I didn't even care for the Shelbys after '68, and apparently, neither did Carroll. Ford had taken a true sports car and refined it out of existence.

I have had 5 69-70 Mustang fastbacks, 2 69 R code Mach 1s, 2 70 Mach 1s (1 M code, 1 R code), and a 70 non Mach 1 Sportsroof (M code).  My own personal favorite is a 70 Sportsroof non Mach 1. I always felt the large ribbed rocker panels, fake fog lites,  large twist lock hood pins, and honeycomb tail light panel on the 70 Mach 1s were just a bit too garish. My 70 Sportsroof was Grabber orange with the black hood stripe and Shaker, rear wing, and black standard interior with a console, rim blow wheel, and fold down rear seat. A previous owner painted the tail light panel semi gloss black, and at least to me, it looked like a Boss 302 without the stripes, especially after I added the rear sport slats (25 to 50 bucks back in the mid 70s!). I have never really been a big fan of the 69-70 Shelbys, I always thought that the Mustangs just looked perfect from the factory, and the Shelby nose , like Jay said, looked too much like a 71-73 Mustang. Again, just my opinion.
