I remember talking about this very item a few months back.  I am curious....  the oil driven tensioner will obviously take up slack as engine speed increases (thus oil pressure?)....  But wouldn't a spring loaded tensioner work on the cammer?  Or am I not thinking about some moving part or another?

The oil pressure driven tensioners do have a spring in them.

I'm sure you could use this part in the tensioner, it would just take some creativity.
